Magika is a luxury wooden phinisi built the way these boats have been built in South Sulawesi for generations — ironwood and teak shaped by hand, two masts, a deep hull that rides the swell between Flores and Komodo with an easy, unhurried motion.
Designed for one specific job
We designed Magika for one specific job: carrying groups through Komodo National Park in genuine comfort. Nine en-suite cabins sleep up to 22 guests, which makes her one of the few phinisi in Labuan Bajo where an extended family, a wedding party, or two or three groups of friends can charter a single boat instead of splitting across several.
Built for group sailing, finished like a boutique hotel
Big capacity usually means compromise. We refused that trade.
Every cabin on Magika has air conditioning, a private bathroom with hot water, and proper bedding — no bunk-room afterthoughts at the back of the boat. On deck there is enough space that 22 people never feel like 22 people: a shaded dining area, a forward lounge for sunrise coffee before the Padar climb, and a sun deck that turns into the best seat in the park when the sky goes orange behind Gili Lawa. Our crew includes a dedicated chef, licensed dive and snorkel guides, and a cruise leader who has run these waters for years.
Where we sail
Our home port is Labuan Bajo, a short flight from Bali (airport code LBJ). From there we run the classic Komodo circuit on 3-day-2-night itineraries as well as longer bespoke routes during the April to November dry season.
