Why Komodo, and why from Labuan Bajo

Komodo is the one region in Indonesia where a three-night trip is genuinely worth taking. The park is compact enough that a phinisi at 8 knots can reach Padar, Pink Beach, a dragon ranger station and a manta cleaning station inside 48 hours — and Labuan Bajo is 1 to 1.5 hours from Denpasar, so you lose almost no time getting there.

Magika’s published programme is Komodo. Raja Ampat runs on the opposite monsoon and is served by a different fleet — the full month-by-month comparison is on Raja Ampat vs Komodo.
