Ten questions, ten real numbers

Every figure below comes from the operator rate card, the vessel specification sheet or PP 36/2024.

What does a Magika Liveaboard trip cost in 2027?
Shared cabins on a 3D2N departure run USD 310–520 per person depending on the cabin class. A whole-boat private charter runs USD 4,700 for 2D1N up to USD 13,850 for 6D5N with 16–20 guests. Private diving charters start at USD 11,000 for a 3D2N with 1–5 guests.
When is the best time to sail Komodo?
April to June and September to November are the calmest months with the best visibility. July and August are peak season — great conditions, windy around Padar, and the dates go first. December to March is monsoon: rougher seas, higher cancellation risk, and the peak manta density of the year.
How do I book?
Send your dates and headcount to the Komodo Luxury reservations desk on WhatsApp +62 811 3823 875 or email [email protected]. The applicable rate and inclusions are confirmed in writing before any payment.
What deposit is required, and is it refundable?
A 50% deposit secures your dates and cabins, with the balance due before departure. The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation, because it takes the date out of the market. Bookings placed a year ahead can stage payment at 30% upfront, 20% at 120 days and the balance at 30 days. Full terms on the rates and policy page.
How many cabins and guests?
Nine cabins, all en-suite and air-conditioned, sleeping a maximum of 22 guests, with six crew — a ratio of 1:3.7 at full load and about 1:2.7 on a typical 16-guest charter.
Where does the trip depart from?
Labuan Bajo, Flores. Komodo Airport (LBJ) is roughly 1–1.5 hours non-stop from Denpasar and 2–2.5 hours from Jakarta. Hotel and airport transfers within the mainland area near the harbour are included.
What is included in the price?
Accommodation, all meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, a guide, snorkelling gear and life vests, plus Labuan Bajo transfers. Sailing packages also include drone, GoPro and mirrorless documentation as raw footage. Diving packages add up to three dives daily with a dive guide, tanks and weights.
What is not included?
Komodo National Park entry (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per visit under PP 36/2024; IDR 50,000–75,000 for Indonesian visitors), flights, alcohol and soft drinks, personal snacks, drone permits inside the park, personal dive gear rental, travel insurance and crew gratuities.
Does Magika sail Raja Ampat?
No. Magika’s published programme is Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo. Raja Ampat runs on the opposite monsoon — October to April — and is served by the operator’s dedicated Raja Ampat fleet. See the season comparison.
Is Magika suitable for families and large groups?
Yes — it is one of the few phinisi in Labuan Bajo where up to 22 people can sail on one hull. The Family cabin sleeps four, and the Master Ocean has a balcony and bathtub for the guest of honour. Group pricing is on the large-groups page.
