Only a handful of Komodo luxury liveaboards publish real prices. This table collects every publicly quoted rate we could verify on 1 August 2026 and normalises them to cost per night for the whole boat. The range runs from about USD 1,920 per night for Magika on a long charter to USD 30,000 per night plus VAT for the largest VVIP yachts.
The comparison problem
Komodo charter pages are almost designed to prevent comparison. One quotes per person for two nights, another quotes per suite per night in rupiah with a “++” tax marker, a third quotes nothing at all. So before anything else, every figure below has been converted to a single unit: what the whole vessel costs for one night.

Where Magika sits
On a straight cost-per-night basis, Magika is the least expensive vessel in this table at every trip length, and the gap widens with duration. That is a structural effect of flat whole-boat pricing: the operator charges USD 5,750 for two nights but only USD 9,600 for five, so night four and night five effectively cost about USD 1,400 each.
| Charter length | Whole boat (1-5 guests) | Per night | Per person per night at 16 guests |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2D1N | USD 4,700 | USD 4,700 | USD 388 (at 16-20 band, USD 6,200) |
| 3D2N | USD 5,750 | USD 2,875 | USD 242 (at 16-20 band, USD 7,750) |
| 4D3N | USD 7,050 | USD 2,350 | USD 207 (at 16-20 band, USD 9,950) |
| 5D4N | USD 8,200 | USD 2,050 | USD 193 (at 16-20 band, USD 12,350) |
| 6D5N | USD 9,600 | USD 1,920 | USD 173 (at 16-20 band, USD 13,850) |
What the table does not tell you
Price per night is a starting point, not a verdict. Lamima and Kudanil Explorer cost roughly ten times more per night than Magika because they are a different category of vessel entirely: steel or large timber hulls, 14-18 crew, spa facilities, tenders and toys. If those matter to you, the price gap is the answer, not the problem. If they do not, you are paying for capability you will never use. The honest cost-benefit breakdown is on is a luxury Komodo liveaboard worth it.
Best for…
- Groups building a shortlist. Take the three closest rows and request the same itinerary from each.
- Buyers with a hard budget. Anything under USD 3,500 per night in this table is a premium phinisi; above USD 20,000 is a different market.
- Travellers who want Raja Ampat instead of Komodo. That is a different season and a different fleet — see the luxury Raja Ampat programme for the October-to-April window, and our own Raja Ampat season and route comparison.
Hardware differences between these tiers are explained on stabilisers, tenders and toys, and every remaining question is answered at the Magika FAQ hub.
Frequently asked questions
Which Komodo luxury liveaboards actually publish their prices?
Few do. AYANA Lako di’a publishes suite rates in IDR, Komodo Luxury publishes nightly rates for part of its fleet, and Magika publishes a full whole-boat and per-cabin grid. Several well-known luxury pages publish nothing.
What is the cheapest whole-boat luxury charter in this comparison?
Magika at roughly USD 1,920 per night on a 6D5N charter for 1-5 guests, rising to about USD 2,875 per night on a short 3D2N.
What is the most expensive Komodo charter listed publicly?
Lamima at USD 30,000 per night plus 11% VAT, and Kudanil Explorer at USD 26,000 per night plus 12% VAT, both published on the Komodo Luxury fleet page.
How do you compare boats fairly when packages differ?
Normalise to cost per night for the whole boat, then divide by the maximum guest number. Anything else compares a 2-night product against a 5-night one.
Are these prices inclusive of the national park fee?
No. Park entry is charged separately at IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per visit under PP 36/2024, with IDR 50,000-75,000 for Indonesian visitors.
Why is a per-person open trip rate so much lower?
Because you are buying one berth on a boat sold to strangers, not the vessel. Magika’s shared 3D2N cabins run USD 310-520 per person against USD 5,750 for the whole boat.
When was this table last verified?
1 August 2026, against the operator rate cards and public pages named in the source column of each row.
Do published rates change during peak season?
Yes. July to August is peak in Komodo and December to March brings monsoon conditions with reduced schedules. Confirm the applicable rate in writing at booking.
