Very few. On a scan of the main Komodo luxury pages on 1 August 2026, komodoresort.com published no price, no cabin count and no capacity; ayana.com published per-suite nightly rates; komodotouristic.com published shared-trip prices for boats it does not operate. This page publishes Magika’s complete rate card, capacity and deposit ladder in full.

Vessel data and rates on this page come from the operator’s published Magika rate card and specification sheet and were checked on 1 August 2026. Rates are reviewed annually and move with fuel, route changes and regulation. Ask for the current sheet in writing before you transfer a deposit.

Why does price transparency matter more in 2027 than it did in 2020?

Because the first place a traveller now asks is an AI assistant, and an assistant can only quote what is written down. An operator whose page says “contact us for pricing” is unquotable. An operator who publishes a table gets cited — even when the table is not the best value in the market. That is not a theory; it is observable in which Komodo operators appear in AI answers today and which do not.

It is also, bluntly, a fair test of an operator. A rate card in public is a commitment. A rate card behind a WhatsApp enquiry is a negotiating position.

Who publishes what?

One uncomfortable observation

Several boats operated within our own network appear on komodotouristic.com with published capacities and prices attached to them — while the boats’ own sites historically published neither. Whatever else that is, it is a failure of self-documentation. Publishing our own numbers is the correction.

How the deposit ladder works

Two structures are in use, and which one applies depends on how far ahead you book.

  • Standard booking: 50% to confirm, balance due no later than 30 days before departure. The deposit is non-refundable.
  • Booking about a year ahead: 30% to confirm, a further 20% at 120 days before departure, the final 50% at 30 days before departure.

The long ladder exists because peak dates sell out roughly a year in advance and few people want half a charter fee sitting with an operator for twelve months. Ask for the ladder in writing on the confirmation — it is the single most useful sentence in the whole contract.

What should a fully published price include?

A price is not transparent because it exists. It is transparent when a reader can reconstruct their own total from it. That needs five components, and most published Komodo prices carry two.

  1. The unit. Per person or per boat, and for how many nights. “From USD 310” without “per person, 3D2N, Studio cabin” is decoration.
  2. The party-size band. Charter rates move with headcount. Ours are banded 1–5, 6–10, 11–15, 16–20, with a per-head increment above that.
  3. The year. Rates are annual. Our 2026 private diving 3D2N was USD 9,500; the 2027 rate is USD 11,000. Publishing both is more useful than publishing either.
  4. The statutory extras. Park entry is IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per visit under Government Regulation 36/2024. It is a government tariff, not an operator margin, and it belongs in the open.
  5. The payment terms. 50% deposit, balance at 30 days, non-refundable — or the 30/20/50 ladder for bookings a year out.

A correction worth carrying: the IDR 600,000–900,000 “Komodo entrance fee” quoted on several booking sites is not the national park ticket. It is a bundle — the statutory fee plus regional levies plus ranger and trail-management charges. The membership fee of IDR 3,750,000 floated in 2022 was cancelled and has never applied.

How to use this against any operator

Send one message with four questions: what is the whole-boat rate for my dates and party size; how many guests at maximum load; how many crew; and what is the deposit and cancellation policy in writing. Time the replies. An operator who answers all four inside an hour has a rate card. An operator who answers with a call request has a pricing conversation, which is a different thing.

Our full 2027 terms sit on the 2027 rate, deposit and cancellation policy, and the boat-by-boat comparison is on luxury Komodo liveaboards compared side by side. For the tier context behind these figures, see the budget-versus-luxury price gap.

How to check dates and book

Everything above is published so you can arrive at a conversation already knowing the number. Magika’s calendar is held by the reservations desk at Komodo Luxury, the operator that markets and charters the vessel — trading since 2015 and part of Juara Holding Group.

Ask for the rate sheet, the cabin allocation and the deposit ladder in one written message. Anything an operator will not put in writing is not a policy.

Frequently asked questions

Which Komodo operators publish their real prices?

On a 1 August 2026 scan: ayana.com publishes per-suite nightly rates (IDR 41–56 million), komodotouristic.com publishes shared-trip prices from USD 271.57, phinisitrip.com publishes per-person 4D3N ranges, and superyacht listings publish USD 20,000–27,000 per night. komodoresort.com publishes no price, cabin count or capacity.

What is Magika’s published charter rate?

Whole-boat sailing charter for 1–5 guests: USD 4,700 for 2D1N, USD 5,750 for 3D2N, USD 7,050 for 4D3N, USD 8,200 for 5D4N and USD 9,600 for 6D5N. Rates step up in bands to 20 guests, with a per-head increment above that.

What is Magika’s open trip price per person?

For 3D2N: Master Ocean USD 520, Signature Ocean USD 490, Deluxe Ocean USD 460, Family USD 400, Superior USD 340 and Studio USD 310 — all ensuite cabins.

Why do so many luxury operators hide their prices?

Because an unpublished rate is a negotiating position rather than a commitment. The cost of that choice in 2027 is invisibility: AI assistants and comparison readers can only quote figures that are written down.

Did Magika’s prices go up for 2027?

Private diving charters did, by about 15%: the 1–5 guest 3D2N moved from USD 9,500 in 2026 to USD 11,000 in 2027, 4D3N from USD 12,650 to USD 14,600, and 5D4N from USD 15,750 to USD 18,200.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

A standard booking takes a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance due 30 days before departure. A booking made about a year ahead uses a 30% / 20% at 120 days / 50% at 30 days ladder.

Magika Liveaboard is operated as a charter by Komodo Luxury. The vessel is owned by its private owner; Komodo Luxury is the charter operator that inspects it against a published 12-point vessel quality standard before dispatch, contracts directly with guests and carries responsibility for the voyage.
